CD80 (extra-cellular domain)

CD80 (CD80 Molecule) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CD80 include Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis and Vaccinia. Among its related pathways are PEDF Induced Signaling and Cytokine Signaling in Immune system. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include coreceptor activity. An important paralog of this gene is CD86.
Full Name
CD80 Molecule
Function
Involved in the costimulatory signal essential for T-lymphocyte activation. T-cell proliferation and cytokine production is induced by the binding of CD28, binding to CTLA-4 has opposite effects and inhibits T-cell activation.
(Microbial infection) Acts as a receptor for adenovirus subgroup B.
