GTPBP2

GTP-binding proteins, or G proteins, constitute a superfamily capable of binding GTP or GDP. G proteins are activated by binding GTP and are inactivated by hydrolyzing GTP to GDP. This general mechanism enables G proteins to perform a wide range of biologic activities.
Full Name
GTP binding protein 2
Biological Process
Translational elongation Source: GO_Central
Cellular Location
Extracellular region; Platelet alpha granule lumen
Involvement in disease
Jaberi-Elahi syndrome (JABELS):
An autosomal recessive disorder characterized by developmental delay and intellectual disability. Additional variable features include ataxic gait and abnormal movements, visual impairment, microcephaly, abnormal foot or hand posturing, kyphoscoliosis, dysmorphic facial features or seizures. Brain imaging typically shows cerebellar atrophy and hypoplasia of the corpus callosum.
