CPSF4

CPSF4 (Cleavage And Polyadenylation Specific Factor 4) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CPSF4 include Influenza and Benign Essential Hypertension. Among its related pathways are mRNA Splicing - Major Pathway and Transport of the SLBP independent Mature mRNA. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include nucleic acid binding. An important paralog of this gene is CPSF4L.
Full Name
Cleavage And Polyadenylation Specific Factor 4
Function
Component of the cleavage and polyadenylation specificity factor (CPSF) complex that play a key role in pre-mRNA 3'-end formation, recognizing the AAUAAA signal sequence and interacting with poly(A) polymerase and other factors to bring about cleavage and poly(A) addition. CPSF4 binds RNA polymers with a preference for poly(U).
