Human Adipokine Antibody Array (Membrane, 58 Targets) (Y0238) (AbAr-0238-YC)

Antibody array is a specific form of protein microarray. In this technology, capture antibodies spotted on membranes or glass slide bind to specific target proteins present in the sample. Captured proteins are visualized using chemiluminescent or Laser Scanner. The signal produced is proportional to the amount of analyte bound. The Human Adipokine Antibody Array can be used to simultaneously detect the relative levels of 58 different obesity-related molecules in a single sample.

The main adipokines include leptin, adiponectin, resistin, tumor-necrosis factor, interleukin 6, chemokine (C–C motif) ligand 2, interleukin 10, and transforming growth factor-β. The imbalance between pro- and anti-inflammatory adipokines on adipose tissue results in insulin resistance and the development of metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
