Protocol Outline

Biotinylate the samples and dialyze the biotinylated samples in PBS.
Allow the glass slide to dry thoroughly.
Block the surface of the array.
Incubate the array with the samples.
Incubate with streptavidin-conjugated fluorescent dye.
Carefully disassemble the glass slide.
Scan the slides using a microarray laser scanner.
Conduct densitometric analysis and interpret the data.

The imbalance between pro- and anti-inflammatory adipokines on adipose tissue results in insulin resistance and the development of metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
