Has this antibody been validated for use in species other than mouse?

The antibody is a mouse-derived recombinant antibody, and has been extensively validated for its reactivity with human and mouse ACYP1. Given the high sequence homology of ACYP1 across species, it may also cross-react with other mammalian species. We recommend performing a sequence homology check and a small-scale pilot experiment to confirm reactivity in your specific application and species.

Can this mouse-derived antibody be used on mouse tissue for IHC without high background issues?

Yes, but special care must be taken. The "mouse-on-mouse" issue, where a secondary antibody can non-specifically bind to endogenous mouse IgG in the tissue, can lead to high background. To mitigate this, we recommend using a specific blocking buffer designed for mouse-on-mouse experiments or a special F(ab) fragment secondary antibody that minimizes cross-reactivity. Another option is to use a directly conjugated primary antibody to avoid the need for a secondary entirely.
