CCL8

CCL8 (C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 8) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CCL8 include Diffuse Gastric Cancer. Among its related pathways are PEDF Induced Signaling and Akt Signaling. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include protein kinase activity and chemokine activity. An important paralog of this gene is CCL11.
Full Name
C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 8
Function
Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils. May play a role in neoplasia and inflammatory host responses. This protein can bind heparin. The processed form MCP-2(6-76) does not show monocyte chemotactic activity, but inhibits the chemotactic effect most predominantly of CCL7, and also of CCL2 and CCL5 and CCL8.
