Target

Full Name
ATPase, class VI, type 11B
Introduction
P-type ATPases, such as ATP11B, are phosphorylated in their intermediate state and drive uphill transport of ions across membranes. Several subfamilies of P-type ATPases have been identified.
Entrez Gene ID
UniProt ID
Alternative Names
ATPase Phospholipid Transporting 11B (Putative); P4-ATPase Flippase Complex Alpha Subunit ATP11B; ATPase, Class VI, Type 11B; EC 3.6.3.1; ATPase IR; ATPIF; ATPIR;
Function
Catalytic component of a P4-ATPase flippase complex which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled to the transport of aminophospholipids, phosphatidylserines (PS) and phosphatidylethanolamines (PE), from the outer to the inner leaflet of intracellular membranes (PubMed:30018401).
May contribute to the maintenance of membrane lipid asymmetry in endosome compartment (PubMed:30018401).
Biological Process
Aminophospholipid transport Source: UniProtKB
Ion transmembrane transport Source: Reactome
Ion transport Source: UniProtKB
Neutrophil degranulation Source: Reactome
Phospholipid translocation Source: GO_Central
Cellular Location
Recycling endosome membrane; Early endosome; Trans-Golgi network; Endoplasmic reticulum. Exit from the endoplasmic reticulum requires the presence of TMEM30A, but not TMEM30B (PubMed:21914794). In the presence of TMEM30A, mainly located in recycling endosomes (PubMed:21914794).
