Introduction

This gene encodes a member of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor receptor (GDNFR) family of proteins. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature receptor. The protein mediates the GDNF-induced autophosphorylation and activation of the RET receptor.
