The protein has a molecular weight of 39.0 kilodaltons (kD) and a pI of 6.678. The main feature of the protein is the SH2 (Src homology) domain, which is a region that has phosphotyrosine receptors and is important in many signaling molecules. This protein may be a modulator of the apoptotic response through its ability to affect mitochondrial stability (By similarity). This is an adapter protein involved in tyrosine kinase and CD28 signaling, which seems to affect CD28-mediated activation of the RE/AP element of the interleukin-2 promoter.
