More Infomation

Target

Full Name
Small Nuclear Ribonucleoprotein U1 Subunit 70
Function
Component of the spliceosomal U1 snRNP, which is essential for recognition of the pre-mRNA 5' splice-site and the subsequent assembly of the spliceosome (PubMed:19325628, PubMed:25555158).
SNRNP70 binds to the loop I region of U1-snRNA (PubMed:2467746, PubMed:19325628, PubMed:25555158).
Isoform 3
Truncated isoforms that lack the RRM domain cannot bind U1-snRNA.
Isoform 4
Truncated isoforms that lack the RRM domain cannot bind U1-snRNA.
Biological Process
Biological Process mRNA splicing, via spliceosomeManual Assertion Based On ExperimentIDA:UniProtKB
Biological Process negative regulation of chaperone-mediated autophagyManual Assertion Based On ExperimentTAS:ParkinsonsUK-UCL
Biological Process negative regulation of protein refoldingManual Assertion Based On ExperimentTAS:ParkinsonsUK-UCL
Biological Process positive regulation of mRNA splicing, via spliceosomeIEA:Ensembl
Biological Process regulation of ATP-dependent activityManual Assertion Based On ExperimentTAS:ParkinsonsUK-UCL
Biological Process regulation of RNA splicingManual Assertion Based On ExperimentIMP:UniProtKB
Cellular Location
Nucleus speckle
Nucleus, nucleoplasm
Colocalizes with SCNM1 and LUC7L2 in nuclear speckles.
PTM
The N-terminus is blocked.
Extensively phosphorylated on serine residues in the C-terminal region.
