PLEKHA3

PLEKHA3 (Pleckstrin Homology Domain Containing A3) is a protein coding gene. Among its related pathways are Metabolism and Cholesterol and Sphingolipids transport/Transport from Golgi and ER to the apical membrane (normal and CF). Gene Ontology annotations related to this gene include phospholipid binding and 1-phosphatidylinositol binding. An important paralog of the gene is PLEKHA8.
Full Name
Pleckstrin Homology Domain Containing A3
Function
Plays a role in regulation of vesicular cargo transport from the trans-Golgi network (TGN) to the plasma membrane (PubMed:15107860).
Regulates Golgi phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PtdIns4P) levels and activates the PtdIns4P phosphatase activity of SACM1L when it binds PtdIns4P in 'trans' configuration (PubMed:30659099).
Binds preferentially to PtdIns4P (PubMed:11001876, PubMed:15107860).
Negatively regulates APOB secretion from hepatocytes (PubMed:30659099).
