Full Name
Cadherin 13
Introduction
CDH13 (Cadherin 13) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CDH13 include Lung Cancer and Cervical Cancer. Among its related pathways are ERK Signaling and CDK-mediated phosphorylation and removal of Cdc6. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include calcium ion binding and cadherin binding. An important paralog of this gene is CDH2.

Function
Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. May act as a negative regulator of neural cell growth.
